Backlit, young oak tree holding onto its dead leaves in the thick of winter. The glowing leaves were captivating against the starkness of the bare trees behind and brilliance of the light reflected off the snow!

Location:

Taken in a clearing adjacent to a footpath leading to Dave’s Bottom, Annesley, Nottinghamshire.

Camera settings:

F 13, 1/80th second exposure, ISO 200, focal length 16mm, Sigma 10 - 20mm lens

Editing/other information:

Editing consisted slight brightening etc. to ensure the finished print truly reflects the intensity of the original image.
