There are no Paris skylines or backlit Ayres Rock photos in here!   I am interested in things that are accessible on a daily basis.  Working with these accessible subjects I strive to capture the ephemeral, the fleeting glance and that all important, often unintentional aesthetic within the natural/built environment and how sunlight interacts with it.  The dominant image type within the portfolio is trees.  I love their random yet planned forms occupying a geography all of their own as they lay claim to light and space.

-//Roaring Tree is based in Belper, Derbyshire right in the middle of England.  Alan Withington has had a lifelong love of photography. This stems from the dark days of using 110/other format film cameras as a teenager and slowly progressing to good quality 35mm SLR's.   The painful wrench of changing from 35mm to digital SLR photography was made in the last decade. A working life within the environmental/conservation sector has taught me 'to see' and given inspiration for so much of the photographic art and the impetus to develop the unique framing service using reclaimed wood.//+//Roaring Tree is based in Belper, Derbyshire right in the middle of England.  I have had a lifelong love of photography.
